Brad Affleck joined Freestyle in March 2012 as International Business Development after seven years with Flarion/Qualcomm.  Brad has extensive business development experience with in APAC.   As International Business Development Manager, Brad is responsible for Freestyle’s further expansion into the Asia and globally.

Since joining Freestyle in 2012, Robert has provided strategic direction, business and sales development for Freestyle in the exciting Taiwanese market. Prior to joining Freestyle, Robert served as Worldwide Senior Manager of Leadtek LTD Taiwan, responsible for sales of FLASH-OFDM and GPS products and has set up successful partnerships with Slovak Telekom in Slovakia, Digita in Finland, Chunghwa Telecom in Taiwan, PT.Telkom and Bakrie Telkom in Indonesia.

Jude’s career spans more than 25 years in sales, management and consulting in the IT industry. Previous to joining Freestyle, he was CEO of Hyung Solution, a business incubating consulting firm for foreign companies. Before that he was a Country Director of TNS, Packet Front and Cosine Communication. Jude has also served as Sales Director of Lucent Technology and Ascend Communications, been Project Manager of Cisco Systems and Stratacom, and SE Manager of AT&T.

Richard Strickland joined Freestyle in 2006 as Director of Operations after ten years with Hewlett Packard / Agilent Technologies in senior management roles, to overseeing the engineering developments of the Company’s products. In 2013 he was appointed Director – Products and Innovation where he grows Freestyle’s Intellectual Property portfolio, manages the analysis of the machine-to-machine market, and maintains the strategic core product direction.

Mark Lawrence has over 20 years finance experience and joined Freestyle in June 2013. He commenced his career at Deloitte Chartered Accountants and has held senior finance positions with large Australian corporates including Lend Lease Corporation, Programmed Group and Boom Logistics. Importantly, Mark has a proven track record in building growth companies, attending to all commercial aspects from merger and acquisitions, debt and equity raising, through to the development of company systems and governance, and financial performance management.

Mohan joined Freestyle in the role of Managing Director in September 2013. He is a highly experienced business leader with a track record of creating substantial growth in shareholder value across diverse industries, most recently as MD Gaming & Group Marketing with Tabcorp. Other senior roles with Telecom NZ and AMP have strengthened his strategic, operational and analytic capabilities. Mohan has a passion for building great organisations, cultures and capability. He is relishing the challenge of taking Freestyle Technology to the next level in achieving its full technical and commercial potential.

Keith Jelley joined Freestyle in April 2014 as General Manager Operations after nine years with Tabcorp Gaming in senior management roles. Keith has an extensive background in leading the delivery of mission critical systems and complex business transformations through major technology programs including more than 30 years of experience obtained in 5 countries across embedded, military, distributed intelligence and telecommunications products . As General Manager Operations, Keith is responsible for Freestyle Technology’s production, deployment, customer support, project planning and governance.

Brenton joined Freestyle in the role of General Manager – Solution Deliver in April 2014. His career spans more than 20 years with extensive experience in program management and delivery across diverse industries such as Logistics, Aviation, Telecommunications, Information and Communications Technology, Banking and Finance, and Energy. He has a proven track record of delivering complex, mission critical programmes of work for some of Australia’s largest blue chip companies including Telstra, Australia Post and the Australian Military. Brenton’s attention to detail and ability to effectively communicate at all levels provides him with the tools required to make Freestyle Technology a highly successful organisation.

Jamie Chard joined Freestyle in August 2014 as Chief Technology Officer. Jamie commenced his career as a telecommunications engineer in the early 1990s. After spending nine years at Telstra Research Laboratories developing  technologies such ATM, Intelligent Networks, Voice on IP, MPLS, and early social media applications, Jamie moved into Telstra’s main engineering arm. Jamie was responsible for the delivery of a number of cutting-edge technology products, including the content systems and products for Telstra’s NetxG network launch, and the definition of corporate technology strategies. Since leaving Telstra Jamie has worked in the UK and Australia developing new business initiatives, concentrating on technology strategy, building engineering capability, product definition and management, policy formulation, industry engagement and regulatory aspects. Jamie has a passion for achieving outcomes, through drive, focus and team building.

Gerry Moriarty has worked in the communications industry as a board member, senior executive, and a range of engineering and operational roles for nearly 50 years.

 

From 1993 to 2002 he held a number of senior management positions at Telstra, including Group Managing Director Infrastructure Services and Wholesale.

 

Gerry joined Macquarie Group Ltd in August 2002 as a Senior Industry Adviser and Deputy Chairman of MCG (an ASX listed communications infrastructure fund managed by Macquarie). He became Executive Chairman of MCG in December 2002.  Gerry was an Executive Director of Macquarie Group from 2003 to December 2008 and continues as Senior Communications Industry Adviser to Macquarie Capital (Australia) Limited.  Gerry is also Chairman of Broadcast Australia, Chairman of Click Energy (formerly Nu Energy) and Director of Global Tower Partners LLC (a US mobile tower company).  Prior to MCG’s sale to CCPIB in July 2009 he was also Deputy Chairman of Arqiva (a UK communications company), and Director of Airwave Solutions (the UK’s national public safety communications network operator).  Gerry has a pro bono appointment; Chairman of the Bionics Institute (a not for profit Australian Research Institute) and was formerly a Director of Research Australia.

 

In June 2001, Gerry was appointed a Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia for service to the information technology and telecommunications sectors and as an advocate for the employment of leading edge technological capability to advance Australia’s competitiveness in business and commerce. In 2003 he received the Centenary Medal for services to Australian Society in industry.

Bob Watson is a successful CEO, Company Director and entrepreneur with over 30 years experience building, managing and directing private and public companies globally.His major areas of business focus have been Information Technology and the Internet although he has also been involved in Biotechnology and other business sectors.

 

Bob has previously been the CEO of several large and profitable IT companies in Australia and the UK.

 

He was Chairman of ASX listed companies SEEK and Cytopia and a Director of ASX listed Virgin Airlines and NASDAQ listed YM Biosciences. Bob was also a director of an Australian based Technology focused Investment Bank and has significant experience in M&A and capital raising.  

 

He founded, managed and ultimately sold several businesses in Information Technology, Professional Services and Contract Labour.  One such business, ICON, employed over 2,000 staff with branches in every Australian state, NZ, Singapore and Hong Kong and was twice recognised as the fastest growing private company in Australia. 

 

Bob was a director of SEEK for 14 years being a seed investor, active director and Chairman. During this time SEEK grew from a small start-up to an ASX top 100 company and the largest business of its kind globally with market leading operations in Australia, NZ, Brazil, Mexico, China and several countries in S/E Asia and a market cap in excess of $3.5B.

 

Bob continues to act as non-executive director and investor for private technology start-ups providing strategic guidance and commercial support for founders.

Mohan is a business leader with a track record of creating substantial growth in shareholder value across diverse industries, most recently as MD Gaming & Group Marketing with Tabcorp. Senior roles with Telecom NZ and AMP have forged his strategic, operational and analytic capabilities. His passion for building great organisations, cultures and capability is why Freestyle Technology is on track to realise its full technical and commercial potential.

Andrew is the founder and key driver of the Freestyle Platform. His industry-leading knowledge of electronic design makes him a leader in his field. Andrew’s expertise has driven the development of the Freestyle Platform into a commercially viable product. As the inventor of the technology, holding several patents and as CEO, Andrew is responsible for the ongoing technical and commercial development of the Freestyle Platform.

Doug has over 12 years experience advising small to mid-market businesses through a range of corporate transactions.  Doug is a Senior Vice President at the Macquarie Group and has worked at Macquarie Capital since 2001 and been a member of the Principal Transactions Group since 2005, which included spending 4 years in Macquarie’s New York office.  During his time in the Principal Transactions Group, Doug has been involved on numerous transactions throughout Australia, North America, the Asia-Pacific region and Europe

Marco has 20+ years experience providing specialist taxation and structuring advice. He established SGe in 2011 as a boutique provider of strategic planning, business planning and execution, tax and corporate structuring, transaction negotiation, entrepreneurial partnerships and venture capital, organisational governance and mediation. Marco was the National Managing Partner of KPMG’s Private Enterprise practice which employed over 500 personnel.

Ed has 20+ years experience providing legal and structuring advice. He has been a partner with Aitken Partners Lawyers since 2008 and served on the boards of numerous public and private companies and government authorities. He has skills across a wide range of legal areas including:

  • Commercial property development, its sale and acquisition
  • Commercial dispute resolution
  • ASIC and ATO prosecutions
  • Complex Family Law financial matters.
